Zazen Night at Midsummer
10 Jun 2021On Saturday, June 19, Earth + Sky Zen will host a Zazen Night on Zoom, starting at 8pm and ending at 6:30am on Sunday morning. We catch a few hours sleep at midnight. It’s an opportunity to appreciate the experience of the shortest (almost) night of the year!

Spring Equinox Sesshin at Earth + Sky
04 Mar 2021On March 20th this year the centre of the visible sun will be directly above the equator, and all places on Earth will have equal day and night, - a good time to start practicing equanimity!

First Days of Spring Sesshin at Earth+Sky Zen
25 Jan 2021There will be a, First Days of Spring Sesshin, at the last weekend of January, starting on Saturday evening, January 30th, and ending on Monday morning, February 1st, Imbolc in the Celtic Calendar and the Feast of Saint Brigid. For timetable and zoom details, send us an email.

Winter Solstice Sesshin at Earth + Sky Zen

This sesshin will be offered on the zoom platform by Earth + Sky Zen.

Easter Weekend Arrangements at Earth+Sky
08 Aug 2020Earth+Sky Zen Dojo Dublin will take a break from zooming zazen over the holiday weekend, which means no zoom zazen on Sunday evening and Monday morning. We’ll be back zooming for Tuesday morning zazen, and will see you then!
Temporary Closure at Earth+Sky Zen Dublin Dojo
05 Aug 2020Due to the Covid-19 global pandemic, the dojo will close temporarily in the interests of ‘social distancing’. We want to act in solidarity with everyone in the effort to delay the transmission of the virus, so that vulnerable groups are protected as much as possible.

March Sesshin Cancellation
02 Aug 2020The Redemptorists’ Retreat Centre in Esker, Athenry, has cancelled events for the next few weeks, due to the national effort to delay the spread of COVID-19. As such, the March sesshin will not take place as planned. Thank you to all who had booked and planned to travel.
Dublin Dojo Closed for St. Patrick's Day Weekend
01 Aug 2020The Dublin dojo will close from Saturday, March 14th until 7:00 am Wednesday morning, March 18th. We are conscious of participating in the national effort to delay the spread of COVID-19, and of taking prudent measures to avoid community transmission. At the moment the zazen timetable is unchanged, as the dojo is spacious enough to accommodate the group who practice morning and evening. We’ll keep the situation under review.
Annual Summer Sesshin July 25 - August 1

From August 1st to 8th, an actual sesshin will take place on the Aran Islands, limited to 10 people.
Annual Zen Sesshin on the Aran Islands
25 Jul 2020The annual zen retreat / sesshin will be held this year at Killeany Lodge, Inishmore, in the last week of July 2020.
Starting on Saturday evening, July 25th there will be three and a half days of ‘preparation’, led by Tom Cleary. On Wednesday evening, July 29th the sesshin will begin for two and a half days of more intensive practice, the sesshin will be led by Mary Laheen.
Accommodation: dormitory style
Food: vegetarian, (mostly vegan)
Arrival: before 7pm on July 25th
Departure: after lunch on August 1st
Costs: Week long session: €300 Preparation only: €200 Sesshin only: €150
