Rohatsu Retreat 2019
30 Nov 2019A week long silent meditation retreat commemorating the Buddha’s enlightenment will be held in Esker Redemptorist Monastery, Athenry, Co. Galway from the 30th November to 7th December 2019.
This sesshin will be led by Alain Liebmann.
Alain is currently teaching in France and leading sesshins in a few other countries. He lived in Ireland for over twenty years and introduced many people to zazen. He is one of the students of Master Deshimaru and received Dharma Transmission from Koshu Itabashi Zenji.
We don’t recommend this event for beginners as it’s intense.

Zazen Day - Dublin - November 24th
24 Nov 2019There will be a Zazen Day at Earth+Sky Dojo on Sunday, November 24th.
Email zen.in.ireland@gmail.com to confirm your place.
Starts at 11am and ends at 7:30pm. Attending for part of the day is fine but please contact us first.
There will be 4 sessions of meditation, each consisting of 30 minutes of sitting meditation, 5 minutes of walking meditation and 30 minutes of sitting meditation.
Vegetarian and organic lunch provided at 1pm
Afternoon tea and informal discussion at 5pm.
Suggested donation €20, concession €15; no one should stay away for lack of funds.

Halloween Sesshin 2019
25 Oct 2019The annual Hallowe’en Sesshin will be held at the Redemptorist Retreat Centre in Esker, Athenry, Co. Galway. H65 XA36
Arrival evening of October 25th. Departure after lunch on Monday, October 28th.
Cost: Dormitory Style Accommodation €120, Private room €150
Food: Vegetarian, & mostly vegan.
Travel: by train, bus, car, Dublin - Athenry or Galway - Athenry (If coming by train contact us in advance to be picked up at train station)
Sunday Oct. 20th & Tuesday Oct. 22nd - Zazen Cancelled
08 Oct 2019There will no be zazen on Sunday evening October 20th, or Tuesday morning October 22nd, due to a Zen Ceremony taking place on Monday. Otherwise, the schedule is as normal.
Please note that, as usual, there will be no zazen on Sunday, October 27th or Monday 28th due to the Bank Holiday

Summer Holiday Schedule for the Dublin Dojo
01 Aug 2019Morning Zazen will continue as normal, for the summer.
There will be no evening zazen on Wednesdays and Sundays for the month of August or the first week of September.
The next evening zazen will be on Sunday, September 8, at 6:15pm, when the normal schedule will resume.
Summer Sesshin 2019
07 May 2019Our summer sesshin will be held from Saturday 3rd to Saturday 10th of August in Killeany Lodge, Inismore, Aran Islands, County Galway.
Cost: €300 (full week) €200 (preparation only - Sat-Wed) €150 (sesshin only - Wed-Sat).
There is dormitory-style accommodation. The food is vegetarian and mainly organic.
Arrival: before 7pm on 3rd August. Departure: after lunch on 10th August.

Zazen Day Galway - May 2019

Mokudo Sesshin 2019
01 Feb 2019The next Mokudo Sesshin, organised by the ‘Zen Simply Sitting Network’ will be held at the Esker Redemptorists’ Monastery, in Athenry, Co. Galway in April 2019. Arrival on the evening of Thursday, April 25. Departure on Sunday April 28th after lunch.
The Mokudo Sesshin is held each year in honour of Taisen Deshimaru in a different country. We expect a number of practitioners from France, Spain, Germany, Hungary and the UK to attend.
